The Cowley Digital Access program is a new textbook model in collaboration with top publishers that converts traditional textbooks into digital content. If you have enrolled in a course that uses a Digital Access title, your required course materials will be available when you login to Blackboard on the first day of class.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does the Cowley Digital Access cost?The price varies depending on the course materials chosen by the instructor, but most Digital Access prices are lower than purchasing the material directly through the publisher and usually 50% to 70% less than the cost of the printed textbook.
How do I pay for the Cowley Digital Access?
Upon enrollment in a Digital Access course, your student account will be charged for your Digital Access course materials. If you decide to withdraw from the course prior to the last day for full refund, your student account will also be refunded for your Digital Access course materials.
How do I access my materials?
If your instructor is using Digital Access, you will be notified prior to the start of classes via your Cowley student email account. This email will include access instructions, the discounted pricing for your Digital Access materials as well as information on opting out. Your Digital Access materials will be available when you login to Blackboard on the first day of class. Your instructor should also provide specific directions on how to access your Digital Access materials.
What if I drop the course?
If you withdraw from the course prior to the last day for a full refund, your student account will be also be refunded for your Digital Access course materials.
What if I don’t want to participate in Cowley Digital Access or have already purchased my course material another way?
Cowley College has worked with publishers to obtain your course materials at the lowest available cost. These materials are required by your instructor. If you have already purchased your course materials from another source or do not want to participate in Digital Access, you will need to OPT-OUT of the program by the last day for a full refund and be sure that you’re able to obtain the requried materials on your own.
How do I opt-out?
To opt-out, simply respond to the email sent to your Cowley student email account by the last day for a full refund. You will receive a separate email for each Digital Access course that you are enrolled in. Please respond to each separately. Emails are typically sent the week before classes begin. If you opt-out by the last day for full refund, access to the online content will be turned off and your student account will be refunded.
I prefer a printed textbook, can I still purchase one?
Your Digital Access course includes an eBook. If you prefer a printed textbook, the Cowley Bookstore makes every effort to ensure traditional textbooks are available for most courses. Unfortunately, due to publisher restrictions, not all textbooks are available in print version. Visit www.cowleycollegebooks.com to see if a traditional textbook is available for your Cowley Digital Access course.
